We tear out the old shower, prep the opening, and set new walls, a new base, and the fixtures you pick. Most installs are done in 1–2 days, not the weeks a full gut job takes — because the panels arrive built to your shower's exact size, so there's no tile to cut and grout on site.
Our walls are solid surface — the Onyx Collection or Bath Concepts acrylic, both seamless, bright, and grout-free. They're warm to the touch and wipe clean, with no grout lines to scrub. The real choice in a remodel isn't which solid surface; it's solid surface or tile, and we install solid surface for a reason. How long will I be without my shower?
Most walk-in shower installs are done in 1–2 days, not the weeks a full gut job takes. Because the walls arrive built to size, there's no tile to set and grout on site. We give you a real timeline at the consultation — it varies a little by project.
What are the walls made of?
Solid surface — either the Onyx Collection (cast from alumina trihydrate and resin) or Bath Concepts acrylic. Both are seamless, bright, and wipe clean, with no grout lines. Neither is tile, and neither is a cultured-marble product.
Do I get sliding doors or frameless glass?
Bypass sliding doors from Arizona Shower Door come standard — sturdy and easy to live with. Frameless glass is the premium upgrade if you want the open, frame-free look. Both wipe clean easily, and the seamless walls behind them have no grout to scrub.
Can you add a seat or grab bars?
Yes, and this is the right time. We can build in a bench and anchor Moen grab bars — rated to 500 lbs — into the wall while it's open, so they hold solid. Much safer than screwing one in afterward.
Can you do the whole bathroom too?
We can. A walk-in shower can stay just the shower, or we can roll it into a full bathroom remodel with the vanity, flooring, and fixtures. We'll scope whatever you want at the consultation.
What's the warranty?
The manufacturer warrants the product, and Excel warrants the labor for 5 years. The specifics are written into your contract — read them, and ask us anything.
